Masino

Description

The memory of composer’s father (Tommaso called as a child Masino) who died prematurely and the fact that he was a good player and a fervent admirer of band music were the reasons that gave the impetus to the composition of this graceful march. The music recalls the joyful village festivals in which Masino always participated, and in the trio the euphonium, an instrument he played, plays a melody in an accompanying style typical of the symphonic march.
