Description
piece for 5-voice mixed choir “from a prayer of the American Indians”
by Enea Chisci
The piece is a choir with five mixed male and female voices freely distributed among those indicated in the score (“voice 1”, “voice 2”, etc.). The text is taken from a prayer of the American Indians. To open and close the choral composition there are two texts as an optional contemporary frame which can be stated through a megaphone or via a pre-recorded track, or simply removed. The keyboard reduction is also shown in the score.
Commentary on the song
“The annunciation is not exclusive to the Western world but is a message for all humanity. The concept of the Lord or male entity who incarnates in the woman is understandable and clear for those of us born in this part of the world. The spirit is linked to an animistic concept that can allow everyone to come into contact with the mystery of the incarnation of Christ. The ability that the salvation of the annunciation still manages to communicate with art today, since it itself is the greatest artistic object in the history of man, translates in the author’s piece into a polyphony that distances the male-female concept and which aims to underline the magnificent glory of the incarnation.”. Alessandro Di Murro (anthropologist)
