Description
March
by G. Roghi
The Persiceto March is a composition created specifically as a musical tribute to the Town of San Giovanni in Persiceto, located in the province of Bologna, and its band.
This march is rooted in the tradition and history of the municipality, whose name is closely linked to Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint celebrated locally.
The march’s primary melodic inspiration comes from a rich and skillful elaboration of the ancient liturgical hymn “Ut queant laxis,” historically dedicated to Saint John the Baptist.
The use of its melodies serves as a direct musical tribute to the patron saint and, by extension, to the profound identity of the Municipality of San Giovanni in Persiceto.
